Happiness, which is marked throughout the world on March 20, with the
aim of promoting the well-being of all people.

The annual celebration was founded in June 2012 by the United Nations General Assembly, who stated that the pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism is working with other ministries to gear up for a related week-long event, themed ‘Love and Sharing’, slated for March 8-21.
Covering a number of workshops, forums, contests, training courses and sport and culture activities – all pertaining to contentment in work, family, and community life – the event aims to raise public awareness of Happiness Day and encourage more action to be taken to build a happy society.
This is also a chance to popularise the country’s policies and laws on social welfare and the construction of happy and progressive families, as well as honour the good examples set by worthy people nationwide.
In 2012, Vietnam was ranked as the world’s second happiest country by the UK’s New Economic Foundation, behind Costa Rica. Colombia rounded up the top three.-VNA
