Vietnam and Singapore will co-host the 2014 ASEAN Football Championship or AFF Suzuki Cup, the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) announced on April 3.

The decision was made by the AFF Council during their meeting in Malaysia.

Vietnam will host games at the My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi, while Singapore will host group matches at their new Sports Hub Stadium, which is expected to be completed in 12 months time.

The biennial Suzuki Cup features eight Southeast Asia teams split in two groups, with the top two from each contesting home and away leg semi-finals and finals.

Vietnam hosted the biggest regional football event for three times - 1998, 2004 and 2010.

Also the same day, the AFF revealed a new tournament for regional leading football clubs – the ASEAN Super League which is expected to kick off in 2015.-VNA
