Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam’s national football team defeated Seoul FC 3-0 in a friendly match yesterday in Paju, the Republic of Korea (RoK).

Midfielder Pham Van Quyet scored twice while Vu Minh Tuan took the third goal.

While coach Nguyen Huu Thang used all of his best players, Seoul FC chose to field some younger members, resting the seniors who had just participated in the AFC Champions League.

Quyet opened the scoring in the 37th minute, from a one-on-one situation with the host’s goalkeeper.

He assisted Tuan to make it 2-0 just five minutes after the interval.

With seven changes in the second half, Vietnam continued dominating the match and found their third goal at the 78th minute mark.

Au Van Hoan made a perfect pass into the box, with Quyet easily heading it into the net.

Vietnam will have their second and third matches against a team from Jeonju University on October 25 and Pocheon FC three days later.-VNA
