Vietnam’s national archery team are competing in the first round of the World Cup that began on May 5 in Shanghai, China.

The 15-member contingent is one of 41 other teams in the round which will conclude on May 10.

The Vietnamese archers are not expected to make much progress, given that many other Asian competitors are at much higher level, but they will meet up with athletes from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, their key rivals at the Southeast Asian Games next month in Singapore.

Three other rounds of the World Cup will be held in Turkey, Poland and Colombia. Mexico will host the final round in October.-VNA
