Sixty-seven graphic pictures of Vietnamese contemporary artists engraved on wood, zinc and stone were displayed in an exhibition held at the Vietnamese Culture Centre in Paris on April 27.

The pictures, which were composed by 20 artists over the past five years, introduce the country, people and arts of Vietnam to art lovers in France.

Among the pictures are Market in mountainous area, Buffalo fightin, Ngoc Son Temple and Rain in summer.

The show is part of a project approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aimed to introduce Vietnamese graphic art to French art lovers.

According to Doan Thi Thu Huong, Vice Head of the Department for Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition under the aforementioned ministry, an exhibition on Vietnamese lacquer paintings was planned for 2014 in Marseilles to mark the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic ties.-VNA
