Early elections of deputies to the 13th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2011-2016 term were held in many remote mountainous areas on May 19, three days earlier than the official day of elections nationwide.

A total of 2,200 voters in two communes of Hiep Hoa and Phuoc Gia, of Quang Nam central province’s Hiep Duc district mainly inhabited by Cadoong ethnic minority group, cast their votes.

Meanwhile, almost 1,300 Vietnamese who are working on the Sekaman 3 hydroelectric power project in Laos’ Sekong province have fulfilled their citizens’ rights at a mobile polling station in Nam Giang bordergate, Quang Nam province.

The Managing Director of Sekaman 3 project, Pham Van Kiem said that his company had arranged 10 buses to take workers to the mobile polling station, about 40km from the project site.

A couple from central Nghe An province and working on the hydro project said they were very happy to return to the homeland to exercise their citizens’ rights.

It is also an opportunity to be proud that wherever they are and whatever they do, Vietnamese citizens still receive help from the Party and State so that they can fulfil their rights and duties, said the wife Phan Thi Hai./.
