A delegation from the Communist Party of France (PCF) has made a tour of the northern provinces of Quang Ninh and Hai Duong to inquire into the local socio-economic development.

In Quang Ninh province on June 14, the French communists were briefed about the locality’s potential and economic strength in sea port-based economy, coal mining industry, shipbuilding, and tourism. They also learnt about the beauty of the world heritage site in the province – Ha Long Bay.

Bob Injey, member of the National Coordinating Committee and the Standing Committee of the PCF, who heads the delegation, highly valued the socio-economic achievements of Quang Ninh, particularly in the context of economic decline.

The French communists also visited the Quang Ninh Scientific Centre for Agriculture and Forestry Production.

Earlier on June 13, they held a working session with provincial leaders of Hai Duong, which has a close cooperative relationship with Montreuil city of Seine-Saint-Denis province.

The two cities have cooperated in implementing projects and programmes on economics, healthcare, tourism, environment and French language teaching in Hai Duong.

The French delegation head spoke highly of Hai Duong’s recent socio-economic gains and hailed the cooperation between the two cities.

While in Hai Duong, they visited the Mao Dien Temple complex in Cam Giang district and the Chu Dau pottery establishment in Nam Sach district./.
