Lao National Day marked in Thai Nguyen

Thai Nguyen (VNA) - A ceremony was held in the northern province of Thai Nguyen on November 28 to mark the 40th anniversary of Laos’ National Day (December 2) with Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Thongsavanh Phomvihane in presence.

At the function, participants recalled the struggle for independence of Laos and traditional friendship between the two nations and peoples.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Duong Ngoc Long expressed his hope that cooperation between Thai Nguyen and Lao localities will be further strengthened, especially in the field of human resources training.

Since the 1960s, universities, colleges and schools in Thai Nguyen have provided training for Lao students.

There are currently more than 1,100 Lao students studying in the province.-VNA
