Hanoi (VNA) President Tran Dai Quang has expressed his joy at outcomes of the talks between the Vietnamese Minister of Public Security and Chairman of Belarus 's State Security Committee Valery Pavlovich Vakulchik in Hanoi on October 21.

Meeting with the Belarusian guest the same day, the President welcomed the agreement reached by the two sides on specific measures to deepen their cooperation concerning law enforcement and national security safeguard.

He suggested that the two sides should work closely towards negotiating and signing agreements on mutual legal assistance , criminal extradition , and transfer of convicted prisoners, which will facilitate their future legal cooperation in the context of increasing criminal crimes.

The Vietnamese State leader also called for stronger bilateral links in other fields including security-defence, science-technology, education, health, culture, tourism and labour, and boost bonds between their localities.

He urged both sides to work together to create a breakthrough in their economic and trade ties, aiming to lift two-way trade to over 500 million USD.

He took the occasion to convey his invitation to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to visit Vietnam next year.

For his part, Pavlovich Vakulchik informed President Quang said the cooperation between Belarus 's State Security Committee and Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security has reaped positive outcomes, contributing to strengthening the bilateral relations.

He also noted that the State Security Committee of Belarus has established cooperation with a number of ministries and sectors of Vietnam.

Belarus is seeking to form joint ventures specializing in assembling trucks and manufacturing automobile tires in Vietnam, and importing pharmaceutical products from the Asian country, he stated.

Belarus hopes to foster win-win cooperation with Vietnam, he stressed.

He noted that President Alexander Lukashenko hopes to welcome the Vietnamese President to Belarus in the time ahead.-VNA
