President Truong Tan Sang has suggested orientations to help the International Friendship Exchange Council of Japan (FEC) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to boost trade relations.

While receiving FEC Vice President Nakagaki in Hanoi on Nov. 16, President Sang said Vietnam attaches importance to attracting external resources, particularly from Japan and continues facilitating Japanese businesses’ investment in its infrastructure, seaport, supporting industry, energy and healthcare.

Sang said Vietnam welcomes Japan’s decision to conduct consultations with members of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement in a move to join the TPP talks.

The participation of Japan, one of major economies in the world, will be an active factor to promote the TPP talks and contribute to deepening the strategic partnership between Japan and Vietnam in particular and the Asia-Pacific region in general, he stressed.

Nakagaki, who is also Vice President of the ASEAN-Japan Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, highlighted Vietnam’s achievements in stabilising macro-economics, curbing inflation and ensuring social security.

He informed the host of coordination programmes between FEC and Vietnam’s ministries and branches.

Nakagaki said he believed that FEC members will make more practical contributions to expanding bilateral relationship in not only economics and trade but also education and training to develop high-quality personnel training./.
