The Vietnamese Government always attaches importance to reinforcing and intensifying cooperation with Belgium, which has brought enormous economic efficiency for the two people over the past time.

This was affirmed by Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai while receiving Minister for Mobility and Public Works of the Flanders Region Hilde Crevits, in Hanoi on November 11.

Deputy PM hailed the support from the Belgian regions of Flanders and Wallonia-Brussels given to Vietnam through a number of education and human resources training projects.

He noted that Crevits’ visit falls on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries, and marks a new development in their relations, especially with Flanders .

He said he hopes both countries will continue promoting multifaceted cooperation, and appealed for Flanders’ assistance to Vietnam in the fields of culture, education-training, energy and the processing industry.

He particularly mentioned the construction of a tra fish entrepot in the Belgian port of Zeebrugge, which aims to speed up Vietnamese seafood exports to European markets.

For her part, Crevits stressed that Flanders will continue increasing cooperation with Vietnamese localities in a wide range of spheres such as economics, society, education, science-technology and the seaport industry.

She affirmed that Belgian partners will spare no effort to support Vietnam and increasingly explore local seaports’ potential and strengthen connectivity between local maritime ports and the global port system.-VNA
