The Vietnamese Party leader and a senior Party official of Laos confirmed that Vietnam and Laos would do their best to preserve and uphold the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries for mutual interest and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Party General Secretary and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong and visiting Chairman Bunthong Chitmany of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee (LPRPCC) Inspection Commission made this statement at a reception in Hanoi on July 14.

Bunthong, who was also Lao Government General Inspector, informed the host of Laos ’ recent situation and the results of talks between the delegations of the two Parties’ inspection commissions.

Trong highlighted the Lao delegation’s visit to Vietnam and the results of the talks and cooperation between the two delegations of the inspection commissions.

He proposed the two Parties’ inspection commissions closely coordinate and regularly exchange experiences in implementing the Resolutions of their respective Party Congresses.

Earlier, Chairman of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Commission for Inspection Ngo Van Du held talks with the delegation of the LPRPCC Inspection Commission. They focused their in-depth discussions on theory and practical experiences in the Party inspection, supervision, discipline and building and reached consensus on concrete orientations and measures to further bilateral cooperation.

The Lao delegation also held a working session with the Vietnamese Government Inspection delegation, led by Inspector General Tran Van Truyen and visited the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau./.
