Theexhibition, co-organised by the Vietnam Photographers’ Association andthe Vietnam News Agency (VNA), is one of the activities to celebrate the1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, and the 80 th anniversaryof the Vietnam Women’s Union .
Through theexhibition, photographer Van Tho wants to bring to art lovers portraitsof talented Vietnamese women, from senior leaders like former Vice StatePresident Nguyen Thi Binh and Minister of Labour, War Invalids andSocial Affairs Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan to Vietnamese heroic mothers, heroesof the people’s armed forces, scientists, teachers, businesswomen andartists.
Speaking at a press briefing introducingthe exhibition in Hanoi on July 28, Tho said that the portraits helpreflect the traditional beauty of Vietnamese women.
Van Tho, a former VNA photojournalist, who is nearly 80, has devotedall of his life to the arts and has successfully organised eightindividual exhibitions and published four photo collections./.
