Around 1.4 billion USD will be needed to build a new Hanoi-Lang Son expressway, with 500 million USD in support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Vice General Director of the Vietnam Expressway Investment and Development Corporation (VEC), Tran Ngoc Hoang, said that a feasibility study for this project made by VEC and ADB consultants was presented to the Ministry of Transport on Feb. 17 in Hanoi.
With a total length of 158 km, the expressway will go through the northern provinces of Lang Son, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh and the capital city of Hanoi .
According to VEC, the expressway will facilitate transport from Hanoi to the northern provinces and help boost Vietnam-China trade exchange and create good conditions to develop the key economic zone in Vietnam’s northeast region./.
