The 17th Asia Oil and Gas Conference (AOGC 2013) is set to take place in Kuala Lumpur from June 9-11, where more than 30 experts and 1,500 delegates are expected to converge to discuss major energy issues and their implications to the industry.
With the theme of “Our World, Our Energy, Our Destiny”, this year’s Conference will not only continue to serve as a platform for knowledge sharing, but also seek to deliberate the balance of economic, environmental and social aspects in the global oil and gas industry.
Malaysian’s State news agency reports that AOGC 2013 will feature issues that have recently risen to prominence within the oil and gas industry, covering upstream and downstream businesses which focus on shipping & storage, oil trading, refining and the end-to-end petrochemical process.
According to Bernama, the Conference’s highlights include a session on “Gas Play”, featuring Mr. Rajeev Gautam, President & CEO of UOP LLC, a Honeywell company responsible for developing and implementing some of the most useful, original technologies in the world for the petroleum refining, gas processing, petrochemical production and major manufacturing industries. Gautam will concentrate on how new technologies can open new doors and improve the commerciality of the industry by providing a holistic view of the entire value chain and enablers available for producers to help capture the maximum value of their natural gas in the fastest, lowest cost and most environmentally acceptable way.
In addition, Md Arif Mahmood, PETRONAS’ Vice President for Corporate Strategic Planning, will update delegates on the “Amalgamation of PETRONAS Canada and Progress Energy Canada to develop Canadian natural gas for global LNG market”.
The Conference, first held in 1996, is Asia ’s premier oil and gas gathering which has attracted more than 1,200 participants in 2011. This year, the Conference is expected to attract more than 1,500 participants.-VNA
