On August 27, the first group of 4,500 Indian tourists, organized by an Indian pharmaceutical corporation, arrived in Hanoi, began their tour through the capital city.
At the Hoa Lo Prison historical site, they were introduced on the former detention center and the daily life of political prisoners at the site by the tour guides.
The Indian visitors were also eager to explore the Temple of Literature despite the hot weather in Hanoi. For most of them, it was their first visit to Vietnam, and they were deeply impressed by the local scenery and warm hospitality.
With 4,500 participants, this is the largest MICE group from India to ever visit Vietnam. They are also placed in the high-spending tourist category.
As of 2024, direct flights between Vietnam and India are operated by several airlines, connecting various tourist destinations in both countries.
On August 28, a number of small groups embarked on tours to the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex in Ninh Binh province and Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh province, both in the north of Vietnam.
It is expected that the positive impressions from this group will further promote Vietnam's tourism image to India./.
