4th Hanoi International Film Festival to receive 550 films

The fourth Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF), which will take place from November 1 to 5, will feature about 550 films from over 40 countries and territories across the world.

Hanoi (VNA) – The fourth Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF), which will take place from November 1 to 5, will feature about 550 films from over 40 countries and territories across the world.

Speaking at a press conference in Hanoi on September 15, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien said the festival will honour cinematographic works of high artistic and humane values.

Themed “Cinema-Integration and Sustainable Development”, the festival is expected to attract public attention, create a momentum for the Vietnamese film industry to grow and offer opportunities for the Vietnamese film market to seek more partners, he added.

Vietnam’s filmmakers will introduce their works at all the categories of the festival.

In addition to a top award worth 5,000 USD presented for the best feature film, the festival also honours other cinematographic works with awards for the best short film, the best feature film director, the best actors and actresses in leading roles, the best film on an urban topic and others.

In the framework of the 4th HANIFF, competitions, HANIFF campus, a film project campus, conferences and exhibitions will be arranged.

Films to the festival will be screened free of charge in a number of movie houses in Hanoi.-VNA
