A map of Vietnam has been crafted using 5,000 lotus flower pots on the surface of Khong Tu Lake in Van Mieu Park, Cao Lanh city in the Mekong delta province of Dong Thap.

The Dai Viet Lotus Foods JSC in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap exported the first batch of 15 tonnes of frozen lotus roots worth nearly 1 billion VND (nearly 39,360 USD) to Japan on May 7.
The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap is a leading locality for farm produce, with lotus being the most renowned, making it the land of the pink lotus.
Fragrant lotus ponds now play an important role in the development of eco-tourism in Phuoc Dan town, Ninh Phuoc district, in south-central province of Ninh Thuan. Cultivation of lotus flowers has also provided better incomes for local Cham ethnic people in recent times.
The World Records Union (WorldKings) and the Vietnam Records Organisation (Vietkings) have recognised the first Dong Thap Lotus Festival 2022 as the world's largest event of processing and presentation of 200 lotus-based dishes.
