With a 7 – 0 win over the Group B host Tajikistan on September 29, Vietnam secured a berth to the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup finals.

Hanoi (VNA) – With a 7 – 0 win over the GroupB host Tajikistan on September 29, Vietnam secured a berth to the 2022 AFCWomen’s Asian Cup finals.

The Vietnamese team is currently placed 32nd on the FIFA ranking table, over 100 spots higher than Tajikistan so it easilyseized control of the match from the start.

From a pass from midfielder Bich Thuy passed the ball tostriker Hai Yen to score the opener 14 minutes into the game. It was also BichThuy who then doubled the gap, just a few minutes before half-time, thanks togood coordination with her teammate Hoang Huynh.

In the second half, Vietnam continued dominating ballpossession, scoring five more goals to seal a convincing 7 – 0 victory, toppingthe Group B.

Following the tournament rules, only the top team ofeight groups will join four squads who have taken automatic slots in the finalswhich will take place in India from January 20 to February 6, 2020.

For the first time in history, the finals is expandedfrom eight teams to twelve. Japan are the defending champions while Australiaand China were second and third runners-up.

The Asian Cup will serve as the continental qualificationfor the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Australia have already qualified automatically as the co-host. Five teams will qualify directly for the World Cup via the knockoutstage (including play-offs for fifth place) and two more teams will advance tothe inter-confederation play-offs./.

Vietnam Summer Camp 2025 promotes cultural connection, national unity

Running from July 13 - 26, the 2025 camp’s itinerary includes visits to historic and cultural sites like Cu Chi Tunnels, Kon Tum Prison Relic Site, and Quang Tri Martyrs’ Monument.
