After an impressive performance in 2022, Vietnam’s economic growth is forecasted to moderate at 6.5% this year and further expand at 6.8% in 2024.

This is the information given in Asian Development Outlook (ADO) released by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on April 4.

Andrew Jeffries, ADB Country Director for Vietnam, pointed out that the country’s economic growth will be constrained this year by the global slowdown, continued monetary tightening, and spillover effects from global geopolitical tensions.

However, he held that Vietnam’s growth support policy with monetary easing, a considerable amount of public investment expected to be disbursed in 2023 coupled with China’s reopening will help the country economy counter these headwinds./.
