Hanoi (VNA) –Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has recently signed a decision approvingadjustments to the master plan on air transport development till 2020 withvision to 2030.

The plan aims for Vietnam’sair transport market to be among the top four in ASEAN by 2030 in terms ofvolume and with a fleet of modern aircraft. Three passenger and cargotransportation centres on par with ASEAN standards will be established.

The number of airpassengers is hoped to increase by 16 percent per year for 2015-2020 and 8 percent for2020-2030 while the volume of cargo is expected to rise 18 percent annually for2015-2020 and 12 percent for the 2020-2030 period.

By 2020, airliners areexpected to handle about 64 million passengers and 570,000 tonnes of cargo. Therespective figures by 2030 are 131 million passengers and 1.7 million tonnes ofcargo.

Meanwhile, airports arehoped to handle about 131 million passengers and 2.2 million tonnes of cargo by2020.

Among 13 domestic and 10international airports, Noi Bai, Da Nang, Tan Son Nhat and Cam Ranh airportswill be international gateways.

In the north, there are NoiBai, Van Don, Cat Bi and Vinh international airports and Dien Bien, Tho Xuanand Dong Hoi domestic ones. In the central region, Phu Bai, Da Nang and CamRanh are international airports while Chu Lai, Pleiku, Phu Cat and Tuy Hoa aredomestic ones.

In the south, Tan Son Nhat,Can Tho and Phu Quoc airports will serve domestic and foreign passengers whileBuon Ma Thuot, Lien Khuong, Phan Thiet, Con Dao, Rach Gia and Ca Mau airportsoffer domestic routes.

The aviation sector willupgrade and extend 21 existing airports and will also embark on the first-stageconstruction of Long Thanh international airport, build Van Don, Phan Thiet andSa Pa airports and others according to the master plan.

Priority will be given todeveloping logistic centres in Noi Bai, Da Nang and Tan Son Nhat internationalairports.

Among 15 domestic and 13international airports, Noi Bai, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Tan Son Nhat, Long Thanhwill be international gateways by 2030.

Between now and 2020, nationalflag carrier Vietnam Airlines is set to continue as a core airliner with its competitivenessamong the top in ASEAN.

The Airports Corporation ofVietnam and the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporate will be required toimprove operating efficiency.

Aviation firms will be given fair access toinfrastructure and land in airports at reasonable costs./.

Hanoi: 95% of administrative procedures to be handled from home

The plan targets that at least 80% of administrative procedures under the city’s authority will be provided as fully online public services, while more than 95% of applications will be received and processed entirely online. By June 30, 2026, about 80% of administrative procedures are expected to be restructured based on integrated data systems, with the figure rising to 95% by the end of the year.
