Agricultural products festival to open in Hanoi

Hanoi (VNA) – The second Hanoi agricultural products festival 2023 will take place in the capital city's Dong Anh district from April 28 to May 2.

The event aims to promote agricultural and rural tourism economic development associated with building new-style rural area in the city as well as celebrating the National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1).

Nguyen Manh Quyen, Deputy  Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, said the event is expected to create opportunities for businesses, production facilities and districts to promote agricultural, craft village products, and agricultural models associated with craft village tourism.

With more than 300 booths, the festival will serve as an opportunity for participating units to promote their brands, products, and agricultural models in association with eco-tourism to visitors and consumers in the capital, contributing to enhancing brand value, preserving traditional craft villages, diversifying Once Commune One Product (OCOP) programme associated with local tourism, promoting agricultural economic development, and building new-styled rural areas.

Products introduced at the festival are agricultural products and local specialties; processed foods; certified OCOP products; organic agricultural and high-tech agricultural products with full packaging, labels and stamps of traceability; and handicraft products.

Many activities will also be held during the festival to attract visitors such as making OCOP products on-site, business exchange activities, cultural performances, a food festival, and folk games.

The festival will come to other districts of Hanoi such as Soc Son, Ba Vi, Ung Hoa and Dan Phuong in the time to come./.
