In the quarter, the country’s major agricultural productsearned 3.2 billion USD, down 14 percent, aquatic products brought in1.2 billion USD, up 9 percent, and forestry products, 922 million USD,up nearly 6 percent compared to the same period last year.
Thecountry exported 1.3 million tonnes of rice in the period, earning 681million USD, year-on-year decreases of 32 percent in volume and 29.5percent in value.

Rubber export is estimated at 228,000 tonnes for 640million USD, a year-on-year fall of 10 percent in value and coffeeexport reached 504,000 tonnes, earning almost 1 billion USD, down almost12 percent in volume and 14.3 percent in value over the same periodlast year.
Meanwhile, tea, cashew nuts and pepperwere still able to maintain growth. The country shipped 31,000 tonnes ofcashew nuts, earning 222 million USD, up 6.6 percent in volume and 8.5percent in value over the same period last year.
Teaindustry also brought in 41 million USD from the sale of 29,000 tonnes,a year-on-year surge of 17 percent in value and 14.5 percent in volume.
Apart from a 22 percent drop in export toGermany, Vietnam’s seafood products were still consumed stably in othercountries such Japan (up 22.9 percent), the Republic of Korea (23.8percent) and Mexico (65.9 percent) in the period.-VNA
