Agro-forestry-fisheries sector grows by 2.65 percent in H1
In the first half of 2017, the agro-forestry-fisheries sector expanded 2.65 percent compared with the same period last year, in which the fisheries recorded the highest growth, at 5.08 percent.
Export turnover of agro-forestry-aquatic products hit 2.97 billion USD in June, bringing the six-month figure to 17.1 billion USD, up 13.1 percent year-on-year.
Vietnam’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by an estimated 5.73 percent in the first half of this year, Director of the General Statistics Office (GSO) told a press conference in Hanoi on June 29.
Vietnam’s export turnover of vegetables and fruits reached 283 million USD in June, bringing the figure in the first half of 2017 to 1.7 billion USD, up 45 percent from the same period last year.
The agriculture sector will have to make greater efforts to fulfil three major targets set for this year with responsibility given to leaders of each units.
Vietnam’s export turnover of aquatic products was estimated at 653 million USD in June, raising the total figure in the first half of this year to 3.5 billion USD, up 14.1 percent year-on-year.
Vietnam’s export turnover is likely to hit 195 billion USD this year, up 10-11 percent compared with 2016 and 6-7 percent higher than the target set by the Prime Minister.
