Classical music lovers in Hanoi will have an opportunity to once again enjoy famed American conductor Dorian Wilson when he leads the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra at concerts to be held on April 25 and 26 at the Hanoi Opera House.

Under the baton ofWilson, the musicians will perform Georges Bizet's Symphony, EdvardGrieg's Peer, Gunt's Suite No 1 and Duke Ellington's Suite at theconcert, which is titled The Fire of April.

Ticketsare priced from 200,000 VND (10 USD) to 500,000 VND and are available atthe Opera House at No.1 Trang Tien Street .

Wilson has received widespread acclaim, especially in Germany, Russiaand America, where in 2010 he opened the 2010/2011 season for theChattanooga Symphony and Opera with a concert of Schubert's andShostakovich's 5th symphonies.

In October 2011 heconducted a Beethoven concert with famous artists Harriet Krijgh, KimBarbier and Matsuda Lina in Hanoi.

Inrecognition of his work over the years, Wilson has been made PermanentGuest Conductor of the St Petersburg Symphony.-VNA
