A delegation from the ASEAN Committee in Santiago (ACS), the Trade Office of Chile (ProChile), and the Chile-ASEAN Chamber of Commerce paid a working visit to Nuble region to seek opportunities to promote trade, investment, tourism, education and cultural exchanges between the two sides.

Buenos Aires (VNA) – A delegation from the ASEAN Committee in Santiago(ACS), the Trade Office of Chile (ProChile), and the Chile-ASEAN Chamber ofCommerce paid a working visit to Nuble region to seek opportunities to promotetrade, investment, tourism, education and cultural exchanges between the twosides.

ACS includes Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailandand Vietnam.

The delegation held a working session with Governor of Nubleregion Oscar Crisomoto, and visited timber, paper and wine productionbusinesses, and campuses of the University of Concepción and University of Bío-Bío inChillan city.

Local authorities, enterprises and researchers spoke highlyof the visit, considering it a chance to enhance mutual understanding betweenChile and ASEAN, thus contributing to boosting and expanding multi-facetedcooperation between the two sides.

Vietnam is currently Chile’s leading trade partner in ASEANwith two-way trade surpassing 988 million USD in 2020. Meanwhile, trade betweenthe bloc and Chile reached 2.74 billion USD.

During January-September, ASEAN-Chile trade value hit 2.97billion USD, with Vietnam continuing taking the lead in trade cooperationwith Chile with 1.13 billion USD./.
