The 10 th ASEAN Business and Investment Summit kicked off in Phnom Penh , Cambodia on November 17, with delegates from 18 member and dialogue countries taking part.
Addressing the event, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen highlighted important topics like infrastructure development, ASEAN connectivity, energy sources and creating favourable conditions for small-and-medium sized enterprises in a bid to turn ASEAN into a trade and investment hub.
Hun Sen stressed that increased regional integration and growth promotion of ASEAN economies will facilitate Cambodia ’s exports, but also increase the bloc’s competitiveness to attract regional and international investors.
The two-day event will focus its discussion on establishing a group of 18-member East Asia Summit countries, including 10 ASEAN member nations, as well as access to markets outside the region through the ASEAN+1 Free Trade Agreement and Comprehensive Economic Partnership.-VNA
