The ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) will be officially established next month to promote comprehensive cooperation between ASEAN member countries and China.
General Secretary of the ASEAN-China Centre, Ma Mingqiang, unveiled the plan on the sidelines of the ongoing 8 th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO-2011) in the Chinese city of Nanning on Oct. 23.
He said that the ACC is an international organisation which aims to step up cooperation between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and China in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, education and culture.
The centre will provide information on products, investment opportunities, tourism potential, cultural and educational services for ASEAN and Chinese companies and people, he added.
With its headquarters being based in Beijing , the centre will have branches in ASEAN member countries and other regions of China .
The centre’s official website was launched by leaders of ASEAN and China in October 2010./.
