The all five largest Southeast Asian economies have made strides in a global competitiveness 2014-15 report which was just announced by the World Economic Forum.
The Report's Global Competitiveness Index showed that Vietnam advanced two places to 68th position among 144 economies included in the forum's report.
The Philippines gained seven places to 52nd, Thailand was up six to 31st, Malaysia and Indonesia advanced four places to 20th and 34th respectively.
Vietnam gradually moved up from 75th in 2012-2013 to 70th in 2013-2014 and 68th in 2014-2015 rankings. However, the country used to rank in 65th in the 2011-2012 report.
In the 2014-2015 report, Switzerland maintained the first ranking for six years in a row. It is followed by Singapore, the United States, Finland, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong and the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Sweden.
