Almost 100 members of the ASEAN Ladies Circle (ALC) and representatives from the diplomatic corps attended the organisations 30th congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Feb. 15.
During her opening speech ALC President Haiji Awang informed the congress that during the 2011-2012 period, the ALC held a series of socio-cultural activities including concerts, flower and cookery festivals as well as seminars on health and human trafficking.
The congress adopted a minute from the 29th ALC congress and elected a six-member ALC Executive Committee and Datin Jazliza Jalaludin from Malaysia as its President for the 2012-2014 term.
An ASEAN women’s fair displaying handicraft products, food, farm products and jewellery also took place during at the event to raise funds for charity./.
