Atthe three-day meeting, which was convened on March 18, the officials alsodiscussed the international and regional situations as well as preparations forthe ARF Senior Officials Meeting (ARF SOM) in May and the ARF MinisterialMeeting in July.
Addressing the event, Pham Quang Vinh, Head of Vietnam’sASEAN SOM highlighted recent developments in the world and the region, and theARF’s contributions to cooperative dialogues for peace and stability in theregion.
Vinh, who doubles as assistant to the Vietnamese ForeignMinister, affirmed that as the ARF Chair, Vietnam would do its best for theforum’s development.
The defence officials held a private discussion onthe sidelines of the meeting, which is co-chaired by Vietnam and India./.
