Phnom Penh (VNA) – The ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan working group convened a two-day meeting in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from December 1 to seek to promote tourism development of the ASEAN member states.
Tit Chantha, Secretary of State of the Cambodian Tourism Ministry, said the meeting aims to bring the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan for 2016-2025 up for discussion and implementation at the ASEAN Tourism Forum in January, 2016 in the Philippines.
With the results achieved in 2011-2015, the member countries are expected to prepare more carefully for the 2016-2025 plan with a view to turning ASEAN into an appealing destination for international visitors, he said.
ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.-VNA
