An ASEAN+3 Youth Forum, themed “Developing young human resources” opened in Hanoi on Oct. 18 within the framework of the seventh ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Youth (AMMY VII).
This is the first time Vietnam has hosted the forum, which is designed to educate young people from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) about the importance of high-quality human resources and encourage them to contribute to the building of the ASEAN community. It is also expected to promote cooperation among young people from ASEAN countries and partners.
Opening the forum, Phan Van Mai, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, said the forum offers an opportunity for young people to exchange views and experience and propose initiatives to further promote their role and contributions.
The outcomes of the discussions will be presented at the ASEAN Plus Three Ministerial Meeting on Youth.
As part of the forum, delegates will join in various activities, including an ASEAN culture gala, visiting Vietnam Museum of Ethnology and voting for Ha Long Bay as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World./.
