ASEAN’s videos promote awareness of connectivity

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) launched a new video series on ASEAN Connectivity to raise public awareness of the opportunities and benefits of a well-connected region, on the sidelines of t he 47th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM-47) in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) launched a new video series on ASEAN Connectivity to raise public awareness of the opportunities and benefits of a well-connected region, on the sidelines of t he 47th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM-47) in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.

Created by the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee with the support of the Australian Government, the videos showcase and explain the vision, rationale and progress made in advancing ASEAN Connectivity.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Secretary General of ASEAN Le Luong Minh said the videos will help businesses, academia, the media, and the public across ASEAN and around the world better understand about the ASEAN Connectivity vision, the progress made to date, and the future economy and social impacts created by a truly connected region.

Minh also noted that the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity is a strategic roadmap that sets forth important development objectives in three key dimensions: Physical Connectivity which includes improving critical hard infrastructure projects crucial for increased logistics and transportation efficiency; Institutional Connectivity which focuses on areas such as trade, investment, services and regulatory issues and People-to-People Connectivity, which works to deepen social, cultural and educational initiatives and improve access and mobility for people across the ASEAN region.-VNA
