More than 120 officials from the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) member nations have discussed preparations for the ninth Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM 9) in Vientiane, Laos from Sept. 11-14.
They deliberated a draft Vientiane Declaration on Strengthening Partnership for Peace and Development, ASEM 9 Chair’s Statement, Provisional Agenda and cooperative orientations for ASEM in the future.
At the meeting, the Lao side affirmed its determination to well prepare for the Meeting in November, to which it will host for the first time.
As many as 35 countries and international organisations have accepted to attend the event, where Asian and European leaders will discuss regional and international issues to further develop ASEM in the coming time.-VNA
