Auditors seek assistance from Slovakia

Talks betweenAuditor General Vuong Dinh Hue and President of Slovakia’s SupremeAudit Office (SAS) Jan Jasovsky focused on the agreement of cooperationsigned in Bratislava , Slovakia , in December, 2009.

Under the document, SAS will help the State Audit of Vietnam increaseits competence in budget auditing and verifying State budget estimatesbefore submission to the National Assembly for approval.

The scheme also calls for further cooperation in consultancies aroundinformation technology, under which the SAS will send experts toVietnam for exchange of experience.

During thetalks, the Vietnamese auditor general also expressed interest in sendinghis staff to Slovakia to attend workshops and take part inprogrammes sponsored by SAS.

Further cooperationwith SAS within the framework of the International Organisation ofSupreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) was also high on the duo’s talks,focusing on environmental audit, public debt audit, IT audit, auditingquality supervision and operational auditing./.

Vietnam’s agricultural exports: Shifting from volume to value

Vietnam has about 1.2 million hectares of fruit-growing areas, producing around 13 million tonnes a year.
