Australia to support ending violence against women in Cambodia

Cambodia’s news agency AKP quoted an Australian Embassy press release as saying that to celebrate the upcoming International Women’s Day (Mar. 8), Australian Ambassador to Cambodia Penny Richards will announce a financial aid to four NGOs to support their activities in ending violence against women in Cambodia for three years.

The Australian diplomat will also announce some 95,000 AUD (over 96,000) USD to ADHOC, a local human rights NGO, to support its anti human trafficking programme, the release said.

The aid announcement is scheduled to take place on March 5 in the presence of Ing Kantha Phavy, Cambodian Minister of Women’s Affairs.-VNA
