Aviation busy again in April

Domestic airlines operated 30,000 inbound and outbound flights in April, down 2.4 percent year on year, including 12,000 transit flights, a rise of 25 percent over the same period last year, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

Hanoi (VNA) – Domestic airlines operated 30,000inbound and outbound flights in April, down 2.4 percent year on year, including12,000 transit flights, a rise of 25 percent over the same period last year,according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

In the month, Vietnam's airports handled 6.6 millionpassengers, down 14.3 percent compared to the same time last year, including 232,000foreigners, a surge of 502 percent compared to April 2021 when COVID-19 wasdeveloping complicatedly in Vietnam and the world.

Vietnamese airlines transported 3.28 million passengers,including 80,000 foreigners.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of internationalpassengers choosing services of Vietnamese airlines rose 214.7 percent, whilethe number of domestic passengers dropped 18.2 percent.

As for cargo transport, in April, 140,700 tonnes of cargo weretransported through Vietnam's airports, up 18.4 percent year on year. Of this, 27,000 tonnes were transported by domestic airlines.

In April, the CAAV applied measures to ensure aviationsecurity and safety. From March 16 to April 15, the authority handled 17 individualsviolating aviation regulations with fine of 110.75 million VND (4,817 USD)./.

Vietnam's wood exporters race to stay on growth path

Ho Chi Minh City: Industrial, export processing zones attract over 2.6 bln USD in H1

Speaking at the at the city's regular socio-economic press briefing on July 9, Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (HEPZA) Tran Viet Ha said that foreign direct investment (FDI) accounted for nearly 1.6 billion USD of the total, including 65 newly licensed projects worth more than 867 million USD and 83 existing projects that added over 707 million USD in registered capital.
