Manchester United, the world's most popular football team, has delivered the Barclays Premier League trophy to Ho Chi Minh City as part of their worldwide tour.
Whilst in the city on February 26, the world-famous former Manchester United defender Gary Pallister met with hundreds of Vietnamese football fans.
"Manchester United has 659 million followers across the world and this tour provides a unique opportunity for many of these fans to directly engage with the club in an exciting new format. We look forward to visiting Vietnam during this tour." Group Managing Director for Manchester United, Richard Arnold said.
The tour was designed to celebrate the club's historic 20th league title, and to do this, Manchester United has teamed up with its official logistics partner, DHL, to launch the United Trophy Tour, in which the Premier League trophy will visit 31 destinations in 25 countries across the globe over the coming months.
" Vietnam is a country full of football fanatics. We see the fervor on the streets whenever the national team plays, and in cafes whenever the English Premier League is underway, and also when the Manchester United Trophy Tour first touched our shores, two years ago" said Christopher Ong, DHL - VNPT Express Vietnam.
"It is an honour to be hosting Gary Pallister here this year, and to once again reaffirm our position as a key supporter of both this club and this country".-VNA
