Hanoi (VNA) - Belgian giant Solvay planned to open a branch in Ho Chi Minh City in the future to seek opportunities in a wide range of sectors. These include the automotive sector, agriculture, food, and electronics, in addition to home appliances and energy.

The branch would also enable Solvay to enhance its presence in the Asia-Pacific and prepare for its potential investment projects in the future, baocongthuong.com reports.

Addressing a recent trade promotion event in HCM City, the company’s representative Vincent Decuyper said Vietnam would be a lucrative market for his company as the country was the fastest growing economy in the ASEAN bloc.

The company is headquartered in Brussels and employs approximately 30,000 workers in 53 countries. It specialises in many fields, including energy and the environment, automotive and aeronautics, electrical and electronics.-VNA
