The movie Hot Boy Noi Loan, Cau Chuyen ve Thang Cuoi, Co Gai Diem va ConVit (Lost in Paradise) by director Vu Ngoc Dang will be screened at the62nd Berlin International Film Festival on February 9-19 in Berlin.
Dang's latest film is the first Vietnamese production to feature apositive view of homosexual life. It will be shown as part of thefestival's Panorama category, for films courting controversial subjectssuch as violence and homosexuality, while portraying a special artisticeffect.
The film gives prominence to humanity through twoseparate stories. The first depicts a love triangle between threegays. The second concerns a friendship between a mentally handicappedman with a prostitute. They have their own dreams, emotions and love,like others.
The film received critical acclaim andcommercial success in Vietnam, and has been shown at severalinternational festivals from which it has garnered mixed reviews.
Lost in Paradise was screened at the Toronto film festival last year,then shown in Vancouver (Canada), and Pusan (the Republic of Korea). TheBerlin Festival is the film's first venue in Europe.
