The southern province of Binh Duong is promptly taking all possible measures to help businesses damaged by recent disturbances soon stabilise their operation, heard a meeting on May 23.
Authorised agencies said that damage was reported in 257 businesses, 199 of which have been verified, while insurance companies examined losses in 73 enterprises.
The Binh Duong Customs Department has set up units to help businesses recover their software and import-export declarations and delayed the post-clearance audit until the end of June.
Its sub-departments will also work on Saturdays and Sundays to serve enterprises’ demand and cooperate with relevant agencies of nearby Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria-Vung Tau province to facilitate trading activities.
The provincial Tax Department has also deferred the collection of 56.5 billion VND (2.7 billion USD) in tax arrears from 190 businesses as well as of taxes on special consumption and corporate income.
At the same time, the Binh Duong Department of Natural Resources and Environment has delayed inspections of businesses and prepared data on the rented land area for the consideration of reduction in land use fees.
At the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Thanh Cung ordered all agencies to swiftly complete the examination of damage and summon all resources to help businesses resume operations.-VNA
