Bomb threat found in Indonesian anti-corruption officials’ home

Indonesian security forces discovered two separate items suspected as bombs that were aimed at two high-ranking Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officials.

Hanoi (VNA) – Indonesian security forces discovered two separate items suspected as bombs that were aimed at two high-ranking Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officials.

Speaking with reporters on January 9, Indonesian National Police spokesman Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo said an explosive device was found in front of the private residence of KPK Chairman Agus Rahardjo in Bekasi which borders Jakarta, while another was seen in front of KPK Deputy Chairman Laode Syarif’s house in South Jakarta.

The two devices were brought to a safe area for further investigation. Initial information from police revealed that they are petrol and pipe bombs. Security has been strengthened at the two locations. –VNA
