HCM City (VNA) – Theannual book street festival opened in Ho Chi Minh City on February 13 incelebration of the upcoming traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
The event, attracting 12exhibitors with over 26,000 book titles, is taking place along Mac Thi Buoi,Nguyen Hue and Ngo Duc Ke streets in District 1 till February 19 (the fourthday of the Lunar New Year).
The festival also displays books aboutPresident Ho Chi Minh, the General Offensive in Spring 1968 and the developmentof Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City.
On showcase are also books ande-books in the fields of education, science-technology, start-ups,finance-banking, as well as maps and photos featuring Vietnam’s Hoang Sa(Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes, and achievements in the marine-basedeconomy.
Speaking at the event, Directorof the municipal Department of Information and Communications Duong Anh Ducsaid the festival aims to bring meaningful reading experience to visitors andpromote Ho Chi Minh City as an attractive destination.-VNA
Book street festival to brighten Tet holiday in HCM City
An annual book street festival will be organised in downtown Ho Chi Minh City from February 13-19, or the 28th day of the 12th lunar month to the fourth day of the lunar new year, in celebration of Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
