Cambodia-China inter-governmental committee meets in Phnom Penh

The second meeting of the Cambodia-China Inter-Governmental Coordination Committee kicked off in Phnom Penh on December 30 with an aim of deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

The meeting was co-chaired by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister andForeign Minister Hor Namhong and visiting Chinese State Councilor YangJiechi.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Hor Namhong said themeeting aims to review progress made during the implementation of anaction plan on comprehensive strategic partnership cooperation betweenCambodia and China .

According to the agenda,at the end of the meeting, Namhong and Yang will preside over thesigning ceremony of eight cooperation documents in the fields ofeconomy-trade, defence, health, and education.

During his stay, the Chinese official will meet with King Norodom Sihamoni and Prime Minister Hun Sen.

Besides, Yang and the Cambodian Deputy PM will jointly inaugurate the Chinese Cultural Mansion in Cambodia.-VNA
