Cambodia and France signed a four-year orientation and cooperation document (2015-2018), aiming to enhance bilateral ties and cooperation.
The document was inked between Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong and visiting French Secretary of State for Development and Francophonie Annick Girardin.
As stipulated in the document, the two countries will continue cooperating in trade and investment with priority on education, healthcare, vocational training, environmental protection, rural development, infrastructure, energy and culture.
The same day, Girardin signed finance agreements worth more than 40 million USD to support socio-economic development in Cambodia.
She told the press that her May 18-20 visit intended to step up the teaching of French as well as French investments into Cambodia.
Poverty fight and climate change response were part of the visit, Girardin said.-VNA
