Cambodia-Russia trade enjoys stability

The “New Cambodia” newspaper on December 18 quoted the Russian Ambassador to Cambodia as saying that Cambodia has exported more than commodities worth 80 million USD to Russia each year, mainly garments, while the latter has shipped 15 million USD of machines and utensils to the former.

Four leading Russian companies are investing in Cambodia in the fields of telecommunications, mobile phones and tourism.

The Russian Aviation Company plans to open a direct route linking the two nations in order to serve their tourism development and economic-trade activities.

Russia has decided to erase 70 percent of a 300 million USD debt Cambodia borrowed in the 1980s. The country has provided great assistance for Cambodia in building infrastructure.-VNA
