Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha began his two-day visit to Cambodia on October 30.
He had talks with his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen immediately after the official welcome ceremony the same day.
According to the Cambodian Foreign Ministry, the two PMs will chair the signing ceremony of three cooperation documents, which cover tourism, anti-human trafficking, and railway links.
On the day, Cambodian Foreign Minister Hor Namhong held talks with his visiting Thai counterpart Tanasak Patimapragorn to seek to boost cooperation between the two neighbours.
Patimapragorn’s visit was key to further enhancing the friendly ties and cooperation between the two countries, Hor Namhong said.
On his part, Patimapragorn emphasised that the development of bilateral relations would benefit both nations and their people.
According to Cambodian Foreign Ministry spokesman Koy Kuong, the two FMs touched upon several topics, including security cooperation along the border, illegal Cambodian workers in Thailand , and trade promotion.
Both sides agreed on joint efforts to prevent cross-border crime and drafted a plan to open four more border checkpoints between the two countries to better serve tourism and trade.
In addition, the pair agreed to set up a telephone hotline to discuss urgent issues.
Patimapragorn arrived in Phnom Penh on October 29 for a two-day visit.-VNA
