The Life Skills Curriculum is the culmination of an extensive collaboration between the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the US Agency for International Development’s ( USAI D) Improved Basic Education in Cambodia (IBEC) project, according to AKP news agency.
The launching ceremony in Phnom Penh on January 28 was presided over by Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Hang Choun Naron, Minister of Women’s Affairs Ing Kantha Phavi, and USAID/Cambodia Mission Director Rebecca Black.
“Having a well-qualified and competitive labor force is within reach if Cambodia invests wisely in education and training,” Black was quoted as saying.
"This curriculum will help make education more relevant, more attractive, and more motivating for Cambodia’s youth. Most importantly, it will give young people the tools they need to not only survive, but to thrive in a fast-changing world."
