Cambodian and Thai troops briefly exchanged fire along their border on June 8, in the latest in a series of clashes between the neighbouring countries, reported a Cambodian military official.
According to Chea Dara, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, the fire fight occurred at 9:50 am and lasted for about 15 minutes in Trapaeng Prasat district, 60 km west of the disputed ancient temple of Preah Vihear .
Dara said that Thai soldiers fired on 15 Cambodian servicemen who were patrolling the border area. However, there were no immediate reports of casualties, he added.
